US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — Against the backdrop of the pneumonia coronavirus pandemic and chronic shortage of personal protective equipment, the US Army began the independent production of medical masks, the Pentagon press service said on April 5.
Tailoring of masks is carried out by the support battalion of the 1st Special Forces Group of the US Army on equipment that was previously used to repair parachutes.
The production of 200 medical masks per day is already underway at the Lewis-Mcchord joint venture in Washington State. Product prototypes developed by Pentagon experts. Products will be transferred to the Madigan Army Medical Center.
