Russian air defense intercepted hypersonic missiles
US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — During the exercises, Russian air defense for the first time reflected the impact of hypersonic missiles, Izvestia sources told the Defense Ministry.
Maneuvers took place from March 30 to April 2 in the south of Russia. Aviation and air defense forces have learned to repulse a massive strike with hypersonic weapons, short and medium-range cruise and ballistic missiles. In addition, the military was able to attack rocket carriers.
The exercises involved more than 100 aircraft and helicopters. A massive missile strike of a conventional VKS enemy was reflected in interaction with the ships of the Black Sea Fleet and the Caspian Flotilla.
Military expert Vladislav Shurygin noted that Russia was able to create a mobile air defense system that is able to advance to one or another region of the country and completely cover it.
“We can very quickly increase the grouping to such a density that it will simply be impossible to break through the defenses with available means without a global war and the use of nuclear weapons,” the specialist said.
