Taliban says US destroyed ammunition in latest Kabul explosions

US, NEW YORK (ORDO NEWS) — The latest explosions in Kabul were carried out by the US Armed Forces in order to destroy their own equipment. As the representative of the radical Taliban movement Zabihullah Mujahid, who seized power in Afghanistan, said on Thursday, there is no danger for the townspeople in this regard.

“Explosions were heard in the Kabul airport area this evening. They were carried out by the US military to destroy their equipment. Residents of Kabul need not worry,” he wrote on his Twitter page.

Earlier, the US military is aware of one terrorist who blew up in a crowd at the entrance to the airport in the Afghan capital, and does not have details of the second explosion that thundered at a local hotel, said the head of the US Central Command, General Kenneth McKenzie.

“We believe there was one suicide bomber at Abby’s gate. We do not know if it was a man or a woman – there is no such information. I know little about the second explosion, except that it happened near the Baron Hotel, which we know is a well-defended structure,” Mackenzie told reporters at a Pentagon briefing.

The first explosion claimed the lives of 12 American troops and an unspecified number of Afghans, while the second allegedly injured only local residents.
