US, NEW YORK (ORDO NEWS) — The United States provided the radical Taliban movement with a list of Americans, Afghans who collaborated with the United States and green card holders whom the American authorities wanted to take out of the country. This was announced on Thursday by the Politico newspaper, citing several sources.
According to reports, Washington took such a step to provide these people with access to the Kabul airport, but this decision caused discontent among American lawmakers and the military. “To be honest, they put all these Afghans on death row,” a US military spokesman told the publication.
US Central Command declined to comment on this information to the newspaper.
On April 14, US President Joe Biden announced his decision to end the operation in Afghanistan. After that, the Taliban movement, launched a large-scale operation to establish control over the country and on August 15 entered Kabul without a fight. Afghan President Ashraf Ghani left the country. Western states are evacuating their citizens and embassy staff from the republic.
