(ORDO NEWS) — The prolonged heatwave that sweeps through New South Wales this weekend will create a severe fire hazard and sultry temperatures in excess of 40 degrees for much of Sydney.
Saturday night can challenge the record books for the warmest November evening, as the Bureau of Meteorology warns people to stay out of the shadows.
Temperatures could soar up to 42 degrees in western Sydney on Sunday.
Bureau of Meteorology chief Andrew Watkins said November was unusual, with only about half of the usual rainfall. He said it is also possible that this month could be one of the hottest November on record since 1910.
