NEW YORK, BRONX (ORDO News) — One of the goals of the Hamas attack on Israel could be an attempt to disrupt the normalization of relations between the Jewish state and Saudi Arabia. This is reported by Comments.ua with reference to expert Ilya Kus.
According to the expert, Hamas tried to disrupt the process of normalization of relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia, but now due to the escalation of hostilities, the Saudis will not be able to openly support Israel, since the main sympathies of the “Arab street” are precisely on the side of the Palestinians. Hostilities or a new war, as it is called in Israel, “will put the normalization of relations between these countries on pause.”
“So far, the war is going on between Gaza and Israel, as usual. It is impossible to talk about a war of apocalyptic regional scale. In the West Bank, it is still unclear whether there will be an uprising or not. Hezbollah did not join the war, as did the Iranian group in Syria. We have to watch,” noted Ilya Kusa.
It is worth noting that the foreign ministries of Saudi Arabia and Qatar have already accused Israel of provoking the current conflict. In particular, the representatives of the kingdom emphasized the long-term refusal of the Palestinians to create their own state.
“The kingdom calls for an immediate end to the escalation between the two sides, protection of the civilian population and self-control,” the statement issued by the kingdom’s foreign ministry said. — “The Kingdom recalls its repeated warnings about the danger of an explosive situation as a result of the ongoing occupation and the deprivation of the Palestinian people of their legal rights.”
We will remind you that Riyadh officially does not have diplomatic relations with Israel, but on September 10, 2023, Israeli diplomats officially visited Saudi Arabia for the first time to participate in a meeting of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee.
