Trump: The number of COVID-19 victims in China is inaccurate, higher than in the US
US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — US President Donald Trump has claimed that the death toll from the new coronavirus (COVID-19) in China is different from that shown by the authorities and higher than in the US.
“China has just announced a doubling of the number of people who have lost their lives to the invisible enemy. In fact, it’s much more than that and more than deaths in the US, not even close,” Trump wrote on Twitter.
Trump’s statement came after China yesterday revised the death toll in Wuhan, where the first cases occurred, adding 50 percent more casualties to the number originally reported by officials. In the city, 1,290 deaths were added to the official figure, bringing the total tide in Wuhan to 3,869 and across China to 4,632.
Meanwhile, 33,286 people have died from the virus in the United States so far.
