US, NEW YORK (ORDO NEWS) — More than 10 people including a police officer were killed, several others wounded in shooting spree in Canada.
A man who fired on in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia , which killed several people, died, according to local police. Earlier, the police department reported that the suspect was detained.
According to a previous statement by the police, Gabriel Worthman, 51, opened fire on the people of Portapic on the evening of April 18, killing more than 10 people. As a result of the shooting, a police officer died, one policeman was injured.
Initially, the police claimed that the suspect was detained, now the authorities inform that he is dead.
“The search (of the suspect – ed.) Continued all night. This morning we actively searched for the suspect in several settlements of Nova Scotia. The search for the suspect ended this morning when he was discovered. And I can confirm that he died,” he said during Briefing Chief Superintendent of Local Police Chris Lazer. The broadcast was conducted by the Canadian television channel CBC.
Police did not confirm CTV that the attacker was shot dead.
