US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — No new confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection have been detected in the Chinese province of Hubei, the PRC National Health Commission said April 5.
The region also recorded three more deaths from coronavirus, all of which occur in the capital of the region, Wuhan. In addition, 23 asymptomatic cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed, and as a result, the total number of people under medical supervision in Hubei reached 715.
A total of 193 patients who had been ill with coronavirus were discharged from the country’s hospitals for recovery. Among the 648 patients currently in hospitals, 171 are still in serious condition and another 96 are in critical condition. The total number of infected in Hubei reached 67 803 people, in Wuhan – 50 008 people.
At the end of December 2019, Chinese authorities reported an outbreak of pneumonia of unknown origin in Wuhan, Hubei Province. Experts previously established that the causative agent of the disease was a new type of coronavirus – 2019-nCoV.
