Italy reports 4,207 new cases of coronavirus and 475 new deaths

US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — Italy reports 4,207 new cases of coronavirus and 475 new deaths, raising total to 35,713 cases and 2,978 dead.

A sharp increase in deaths from coronavirus per day was observed in Italy – the number of victims increased by 475, to 2978, the number of both recovered and sick increased, said the head of the Italian Civil Defense Angelo Borrelli.

“1,084 people have recovered today, their number has reached 4,025,” he said at an evening briefing.

“I have to say: what else have we registered 475 deaths,” said Borrelli. Thus, the number of victims of COVID-19 in Italy reached 2978. The largest increase was recorded in Lombardy, where 319 people died.

Over the past three days, the growth of victims gradually decreased. On the eve of deaths, 345 were recorded.

According to him, the total number of infections, including those who died and recovered, exceeded 35.7 thousand. On the eve of the same indicator was 31.5 thousand infected.

“The trend for the week remains unchanged,” Borrelli said.

To date, 28.7 thousand Italians have detected coronavirus, this indicator increased by 2.7 thousand cases per day.
