US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — The number of hospitalized with coronavirus in Italy has declined for the first time since the outbreak, said head of the country’s civil defense service Angelo Borrelli at a Sunday briefing.
According to him, 525 people died per day, while the last time growth of less than 600 per day was recorded more than three weeks ago – March 19
Another positive indicator is that the number of people who have recovered has reached 21815 people, 819 patients were discharged from hospitals per day. And from the intensive care units 17 previously seriously ill patients were transferred to ordinary wards.
The number of hospitalized in non-critical condition decreased for the first time and immediately by 61 people – up to 28949 people per day.
On Saturday, April 4, 2,886 new infections were reported. Last week, the growth of new cases did not fall below 3.5 thousand per day.
According to the Worldometers portal, 1.24 million people in the world became infected with coronavirus infection, 67.9 thousand died. In Italy, as of April 5, 128.9 thousand people had a diagnosis of coronavirus infection, and 15.8 thousand people died.
