(ORDO NEWS) — The woman was rescued after spending 11 hours underground when her car fell 12 meters into a karst sinkhole in Florida.
The woman was traveling with her husband in a car when they suddenly drove into a sinkhole. Somehow they were both able to crawl out of the car windows. However, only a man was able to overcome the steep slope from the hole and call for help.
Due to the location of the crater about a quarter of a mile from Po Springs Road, rescuers could only reach it in specialized 4WD ATVs.
Then Lieutenant Kevin Pearson was able to descend into the abyss and at about 7:21 the woman was pulled out of the sinkhole. She had no serious injuries.
