(ORDO NEWS) — A severe dust storm impacted traffic on Interstate 10 and 8 near Phoenix, Arizona on August 16, 2020 after the city broke its daily high temperature record of 46.1 ° C.
The storm approached the city at about 17:30 LT, causing low visibility on I-10. According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, one truck overturned, blocking I-10 westbound. Fortunately, there were no injuries.
The I-10 motorway near Pikacho Peak reopened at around 7:00 pm, but rain and dust continued west of Phoenix.
At some point during the storm, the NWS reported zero visibility at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
