US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — Former Italian Minister of Health Girolamo Sirchia told RIA that the country has not yet reached the peak of infections with the new coronavirus, the disease is still developing.
“I think the peak has not yet been reached … The disease is still developing,” said Sirkja.
According to him, the phenomenon of this disease did not appear at one particular moment, so it is impossible to say exactly when it will all end.
“This is a dynamic situation that is developing and continues to grow, we can’t say when it will peak and begin to decline,” he added.
The former head of the Ministry of Health noted that the Italian government unexpectedly found itself in the middle of a storm and did everything possible to deal with it and solve the problem.
“I think everyone has made great efforts to stop the epidemic,” said Sirkja, noting that the main problem both in Italy and other Western countries remains the fact that they did not comply with international recommendations in order to prepare for what was happening.
“Risk management has not been carried out anywhere, despite constant recommendations from major international authorities and international agencies,” said Sirkja.
According to him, conducting a risk analysis would help to understand what epidemics exist around and assess the possibility of their impact on your country.
