(ORDO NEWS) — The creators of the Air Quality Index (AQLI) named the most important threat to people on Earth. Scientists believe that air pollution is a huge threat to the human population, according to the AQLI website.
This threat “surpassed” even diseases such as AIDS, coronavirus, tuberculosis in terms of danger.
Air pollution levels in India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan have increased by 44 percent over the past 20 years, according to an AQLI report. And this led to a reduction in life expectancy by almost five years.
It is noted that about 89 percent of the 650 million people in Southeast Asia live in areas where the level of particulate air pollution does not meet the recommendations of the World Health Organization.
