(ORDO NEWS) — The USDA has shed light on the mystery of Chinese seed parcels that have suddenly begun to be received by residents of the States, Japan and other countries. According to Business Insider, such messages do not pose a threat to life, but can be part of a clever scheme of scammers.

Representatives of the department found that the parcels contained seeds of mint, rosemary, lavender, hibiscus and rose – no life-threatening plants were found.

By sending something unnecessary, and the dummy buyer reports that he received the package, leaving positive feedback. The Chinese Postal Service intends to investigate such cases together with the US authorities.
