US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — EasyJet Airlines found that the data of 9 million customers was compromised by “very experienced” hackers, writes Sky News.
The low-cost airline, which suffers from the cancellation of most flights due to the coronavirus pandemic in the world, announced the discovery of a data leak at the end of January, and in the coming days it intends to notify all customers affected by this incident.
EasyJet also noted that the data was not used for personal gain.
The company believes that the email addresses and trip details of nine million people were disclosed along with credit card information to more than 2.2 thousand customers.
Passport data and credit card details are safe, EasyJet noted.
