(ORDO NEWS) — The Wall Street Journal reporters caught American scientists in tracking the signals of Russian cell phones. The researchers were interested in the area of the training ground of the Navy in Nenoksa.
It is reported that this group of American researchers from the University of Mississippi was sponsored by the Pentagon. The journalists said that scientists monitored the movements of cell phone owners who were in Nyonoksa the day after the incident at the Russian Navy training ground in August 2019.
These data showed that some of the telephones then moved to Moscow, St. Petersburg and to closed military facilities in Severodvinsk and Arkhangelsk. In general, the project of scientists was aimed at showing the possibilities of using cellular data for military purposes.
Recall that in August 2019, an explosion occurred near Severodvinsk during tests of a liquid-propellant rocket propulsion system.
