NEW YORK, BRONX (ORDO News) — In 1973, a group of specialists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, led by engineer Jay Forrester, began work on an ambitious project – the World One computer program. The goal of the program was the following: to predict the future of the entire planet based on complex calculations and statistical data. REN TV talks about this .
“He didn’t really believe in the success of his enterprise, because he believed that the goal set for the computer was impossible. However, he continued his work for the sake of scientific interest. And what was the surprise of the scientists when the computer actually began to simulate the chain of supposed events,” noted publicist Alexey Begeshev.
Using statistics on human development since the beginning of the 20th century, World One analyzed the growth of the world‘s population, quality of life in different countries, industrial development, environmental pollution and resource consumption. Based on these data, the computer simulated the future.
“If you look closely at these curves, you will notice that he assumed that by the 1980s the population would increase and the quality of life would increase, which, in fact, happened. And if you look further, humanity does not expect anything good,” says the publicist.
According to the results of computer modeling, a serious crisis has begun in the world since the beginning of the 21st century. Production capacity was unable to meet the growing needs of humanity, and this imbalance only became worse. By 2040, this crisis will reach catastrophic proportions.
“From this moment on, there should be a gradual reduction, because there is no longer enough energy, food, or essential goods,” explained physicist Anton Ryzhenkov.
In addition to the crisis of hyperconsumption, the computer program predicts environmental collapse. People will begin to die en masse from hunger and disease. If we believe the forecasts, then by the middle of the 21st century our civilization will cease to exist.
This grim forecast raises the urgency of taking action to save our planet. Otherwise, reality may turn out to be much more cruel than the forecasts of the World One computer program.
