US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — The Russian Navy has worked out a new tactic for combating enemy submarines. She has already been informally nicknamed the “hunting pack.”
Izvestia writes that the flock includes several small anti-submarine ships (IPC) and one of the newest project patrol 22160, Vasily Bykov.
So during the April exercises, “Vasily Bykov” examined the specified area for the presence of enemy submarines. The coordinates of the detected targets were transferred to the IPC Yeysk and Kasimov. And already they inflicted a combined strike on submarines with anti-submarine torpedoes and depth charges.
In addition, “Vasily Bykov” was engaged in anti-aircraft defense of the “flock.” It can also report in real time the coordinates of targets to the S-400 Triumph systems.
It is noted that the new tactics of combating enemy submarines will significantly improve the protection of those bases in which Russian strategic nuclear submarines are located.
