(ORDO NEWS) — SpaceX installed its Falcon 9 booster rocket with the Crew Dragon capsule on the launch pad, which will deliver astronauts Bob Benken and Doug Hurley to the International Space Station on May 27, 2020.
The flight will be the first Crew Dragon flight to deliver astronauts to the international space station after the Demo-1 automatic flight test last year. This flight will also be the first launch of the crew into orbit since the shuttle mission was closed in July 2011.
The booster rocket and the spacecraft were taken to Site 39A for short-term static activation of the engines of the first stage of Falcon 9.
NASA will provide continuous tracking of the capsule and crew from the moment of launch until the docking of the Dragon capsule with the space station.
