CIA created a cyborg cat to spy on the Soviet Union

(ORDO NEWS) — It is difficult to find a more mysterious and secretive animal than a cat. The United States appreciated the neat behavior of this creature, so they decided to create a cyborg cat to spy on the enemy.

In the 1960s, the Central Intelligence Agency implanted a microphone in the ear canal of a cat and a radio transmitter in the base of the skull. Then it started teaching the animal different commands. This information was obtained thanks to many declassified documents.

The Americans’ project was destroyed by a passing taxi, which hit a cat during the first test. The mission was called Operation Acoustic Kitty. With the help of a cunning plan, it was possible to freely penetrate the Soviet embassies and even the Kremlin.

Various documents describe how the cat was taught auditory commands. The implantation of transceiver devices into the animal’s body, in fact, indicates that a real cyborg was created. The development took a lot of time, effort and money.

At first, high hopes were pinned on the project, but in the end it was considered useless. The use of cyborg animals is possible, but in the process of training the same cats, problems arise.
