(ORDO NEWS) — In north-central New Mexico lies the sleepy little town of Dulce. Located on Mount Archuleta Mesa on the border of Colorado and New Mexico, Dulce has about 3,000 inhabitants and is the headquarters of the Jicarilla Apache Nation.
As small and insignificant as this remote place may seem, since the 1980s, Dulce has become the focus of controversy about the so-called alien program, rumors of underground tunnels, and related conspiracy theories.
Underground bases and the alien agenda
At the time, physicist and inventor Paul Bennewitz claimed that he had discovered an underground base occupied by aliens near Dulce. His story quickly spread through the UFO community.
Allegations surrounding the base included abductions (“alien abductions”) by these extraterrestrial beings. He also claimed that the aliens were developing advanced technology, including genetic manipulation, all part of their supposed alien agenda.
According to the conspiracy theorists, their plan is to control the government and establish ultimate control over the Earth through the New World Order.
There are even rumors of an unseemly alliance between the people and the inhabitants of the Dulce base, which includes links to shadow governments through secret societies such as the Illuminati, Freemasons, the Bilderberg Group and Skull and Bones.
Dulce isn’t the only place on Earth where underground bases are thought to exist, but it’s one that has gained the most notoriety in recent times.
Underground bases, according to conspiracy theorists, can be found all over the world, with the main active outposts located in the US, Australia, Antarctica and South America.
According to these theories, underground bases are connected to each other through a series of channels that provide a connection between each base and another. There are even claims that one of these tunnels leads to a working base under the Vatican, which has controlled Western civilization for centuries.
Recently, a lot of information has appeared on this topic, in which stunning statements are made. But, as strange as it all sounds, can any of what they say be true? In search of answers, we turn to mythology.
Before we continue, it needs to be clarified that the mythology, like many claims coming from the UFO community, is treated more like science fiction than fact.
Traditional mythologists argue that the gods we find in myths are forces of nature or the product of someone’s vivid imagination. With that said, does the mythology support these seemingly unusual claims?
Using mythology to understand underworld beliefs
Stories of underworld realms inhabited by gods permeate all mythology. Depending on the culture, they were called Hades, Tartarus, Xibalba, Duat, Patala and Hell.
These “houses of the gods” are not always deep underground, sometimes they are described as being inside a mountain or deep under the waters of the earth.
The entrance to their domain, regardless of location, is often described as being through the mouth of a cave. An entrance may appear open at one time, and then completely and instantly disappear from view.
The inhabitants of these underground kingdoms did not want to be visited by an unwanted or unexpected company, but access there was open to the elite.
Ancient texts described entering the underworld as something difficult. For example, in the “Popul Vuh” of the Maya, the path traversed by the hero brothers Hunhun-Ahpu and Vukub-Hunapu is described.
It tells of the steep descent into the dwelling of the Lords of Xibalba and the many trials they had to face. Similarly, texts such as the Egyptian Book of the Dead describe the path that the deceased god-king must travel to reach the Duat.
As in “Popul Vuh”, this path is fraught with trials that a person must pass in order to get into the realm of the dead, the underworld.
The Vishnu Purana states that the deepest level of the underworld, Patala, is 70,000 yojanas below the surface of the earth. Gilgamesh, in the epic that bears his name, describes how he traveled twelve leagues in thick darkness until he entered the light-filled chamber of the underworld.
In these ancient texts, the underground realms of the gods are described as filled with houses or huge halls where thousands of people could gather. Fountains, plants, tall grasses, trees and animals of all kinds filled this land.
The divine ascetic Narada, mentioned in the Vishnu Purana, claims to have visited Patala, stating that “Patala was much more charming than paradise.”
He exclaimed: “What can compare with Patala, where the nagas (snakes) are adorned with beautiful, brilliant and radiant precious stones? This land is adorned with the daughters of Daityas and Danavas.”
Similar descriptions of the underground/underwater dwellings of the gods are scattered throughout mythology.
The house of the Sumerian fertility god Enki, located in the watery depths, is described as a house built of gold, silver and lapis lazuli. Even writers such as the Greek philosopher Plato repeat this notion. He believed that the earth is dotted with many depressions that are full of water, air, trees, fruits and flowers.
Surprisingly, Plato confirms another statement made by modern UFOlogy. Plato claims that these depressions were connected to each other by underground channels.
But Plato is not the only one who refers to tunnels that lie below the surface of the earth. Inca legends, for example, tell of huge networks of tunnels that cross the entire planet up and down, with underground cities.
When Pizarro and the Spanish conquistadors entered Peru, they kidnapped the Inca emperor Atahualpa and held him for ransom. In exchange for the release of Atahualpa, they demanded enough gold to fill an entire room.
Rumors had reached Pizarro’s men that Inca gold was stored in an extensive network of underground tunnels. According to legend, these tunnels are thousands of years old and stretch for miles under the Inca capital.
In recent years, adventurers have entered the caves near Cusco, but they have not been seen again. One person nevertheless got out of the tunnels alive, taking with him two bars of gold. According to officials, he has gone insane.
In response to this, the entrances to the tunnels were walled up for security reasons – at least that is the official version.
Meanwhile, the Apache Indians claim that their ancestors took refuge in ancient tunnels during cataclysms on Earth. They roamed these great passages for years, carrying with them the seeds of life in the new world.
Underground bases of reptilian aliens for genetic experiments in mythology
But what about another claim made by ufologists that these bases are being used for genetic engineering?
According to them, it is at the lowest level, the 7th level of the Dulce base, that aliens are engaged in similar experiments. Again, mythology supports this assumption, and Native American tribes across the country are the most vocal on the subject.
The Jicarilla Apache Indians (headquartered in Dulce), Navajo and Hopi have a long tradition of creating man and emerging from below the surface of the earth.
Indeed, the Algonquins say: “Thus the lowest cavern world became crowded with living beings, full of unfinished creatures crawling over each other like reptiles in the dark blackness.”
They are not alone in this matter. Berossus, a Babylonian priest, tells of the hideous creatures that inhabit this underworld.
He described people who had one body but two heads, some with the legs and horns of a goat, and even some with the hindquarters of a horse and the body of a man. “In short, there were creatures in which the limbs of all kinds of animals were connected.”
According to UFO proponents, these genetic experiments are being carried out by a group of reptilian beings at the lowest levels of the base.
Thomas Castello, a former senior base security officer, testified that the base at Dulce is a seven-level underground facility, the lower levels of which are described as a series of natural caves. Castello believed that these caves were used by various extraterrestrial races in the distant past.
In Hindu cosmology, nagas (serpents) once lived on earth, but the great god Brahma sent them to live under the sea and on the seventh level of their underworld called Patala.
In the Sumerian work Inana’s Descent to the Underworld, Inana must pass through seven gates in order to eventually enter the bowels of the underworld.
Aztec legend says that Quetzalcoatl, a feathered serpent, traveled to Mictlan, the Aztec underworld, and created mankind using his blood and bones from a previous race.
Throughout mythology, the act of creating mankind is always associated with a certain group of gods – the gods of fertility. Fertility gods throughout the world are traditionally depicted as reptilian or amphibious in nature and appear in art as a mixture of human and fish or human and snake.
The reptilians, their alien agenda, and associated mythology
Some people also claim that the true purpose of the reptilians is to control us for the purpose of dominating the planet. They refer to the creation of the New World Order.
Proponents of this theory of an alien agenda believe that the Reptilians, or a by-product of their genetic manipulation experiments, intend to take control of the Earth’s surface.
This takeover is supposedly organized by an extremely powerful and influential group that includes many of the richest people in the world.
Some argue that the members of this elite group are genetically related to each other. Their goal is to ensure that every man, woman and child on Earth obeys their secret plans.
The reptilians have also been accused of wanting to reduce the world’s population and are using weapons such as chemtrails, GMOs, vaccines and artificial viruses to reduce our numbers. It is claimed that it is easier to control 500,000 or a million people than the 7 billion that currently live on Earth.
If you look at the mythology associated with this statement, you can find several pillars of support. The idea of reducing the human population on Earth is not a modern concept. For example, in the Sumerian epic of Atrahasis, we find a story in which the gods do just that!
According to this myth, 1200 years after the creation of mankind, the number of people inhabiting the Earth increased. Their “noise” disturbed the dream of the sky god Enlil, who decided to send a plague to reduce the population.
This helped for a while, but when another 1,200 years passed, the population grew again and Enlil was once again disturbed by the noise.
This time, in order to reduce their numbers, he asked the god of thunder, Adad, to delay the rains, and then the world experienced a great drought, as a result of which a huge number of people died.
The population continued to grow, and by the time another 1200 years had passed, the noise had become too much for Enlil. Wanting to alleviate his problem, he ordered the gods to delay all the gifts of nature.
This went on for six years, and, as described in the texts, the people of Earth, in order to survive, began to engage in cannibalism. Enki, the god of fertility, tried to save people from starvation, which angered Enlil even more.
Finally, in a fit of revenge, Enlil decided to destroy humanity once and for all. He planned to do this by flooding the entire world. Enki intervened again and saved humanity from total annihilation. He warned Atrahasis of the impending flood and told him to build a boat to save himself and his family.
Numerous theories have emerged in search of the truth about our place in the universe. Mythology does support some of these claims. It is difficult to determine whether the creators of these theories based their guesses on myth, first-hand experience, or something else.
What seems clear is that much of the information that UFO researchers bring to light is indeed parallel to the myths and legends that have been handed down to us from antiquity.
If the stories that have been found in the UFO community, such as the Dulce base in New Mexico, were not based on mythological sources, but mythology supports these claims, then stories about our distant past may have some basis.
This implies that the gods were living breathing beings who walked the earth in our distant past, created man and played a significant role in the development of life and culture on the planet.
