An object unknown to science discovered in Milky Way
(ORDO NEWS) — Australian astronomers have recorded a strange rotating object in the Milky Way, which was previously unknown to science. Specialists who made this interesting discovery noted that the object is different from all those that were discovered earlier. This is reported by the BBC.
This space object was first noticed by a university student. He found that his invention is capable of producing a huge amount of energy.
The peculiarity is that the emission lasts for one minute, then stops and repeats again after 18 minutes. Experts quite often encounter space objects that can first “turn on” and then “turn off” and at the same time send radio radiation into outer space.
At the same time, astronomers add that they had not previously come across sources of very powerful energy rays that would be switched on for exactly one minute.
Today, scientists are trying to find out the secret of this space object. Curtin University student Tyrone O’Doherty used the Murchison Widefield Telescope to make this interesting discovery. Today, he is part of a team of researchers led by Curtin University’s Natasha Gurley-Walker.
It is noted that during the observation of a new object, the signal sometimes disappeared, then reappeared. At the same time, the observations lasted for several hours. Such a discovery came as a surprise and at the same time scared the astronomers a little, because they had never encountered anything like this before.
Those objects that can turn on and then turn off have long ceased to be a novelty for researchers. They were called “transit”. Gemma Anderson points out that the object that turns on for a minute is incredibly strange.
After a rather detailed analysis was carried out, it was established that it is at a distance of 4 thousand light years from our planet, is distinguished by a high brightness index and a powerful magnetic field.
Researchers have different versions of what this unique object actually is. It may turn out to be a white dwarf or a neutron star. It will be possible to learn more information only after additional observations.
