(ORDO NEWS) — One Alamo City family — and the greater social media world — is mourning the loss of Gabriel Salazar, a 19-year-old TikTok star from San Antonio.
Although the native’s death has not been confirmed, a GoFundMe has been created on his family’s behalf to help cover time missed from work and funeral expenses.
The social media star, who used the username gabenotbabe on TikTok, reportedly died on September 26 in a car accident. The page does not disclose any details of the accident.
“Don’t really want to get into details because it’s so hard for us to even talk about the pain he went through,” the page created by Chris Vazquez of San Antonio reads.
Numerous heartfelt paragraphs from Vazquez detail the love Gabe gave to his family, especially as a big brother to a sister and brother.
“He was always there with a big hug and smile, and his family will never forget those warm moments. He was so funny with a quiet sense of humor and sarcasm.”
Many who donated to the fund noted that while they never met him outside of the digital world, his content brought smiles, laughs and happiness to their days.
While mostly participating in TikTok trends like lip-synching, he also added Latino flair and humor to his page, like joking about his mom making sopa in 100-degree weather.
Over 100 messages in both English and Spanish have already been posted on the GoFundMe page.
