A banquet hall erected in the time of Christ was discovered in Jerusalem

(ORDO NEWS) — Just a week ago, experts presented several more parts of what resembles an incredibly beautiful and rich banquet hall. Fountains were installed in it, and the hall itself is located near the Temple Mount. It was built about two thousand years ago.

It is reported by dailymail.co.uk.

Scientists have divided the entire discovery process into stages. In 1867, the “Hall of the Freemasons” was found, which after a while was renamed the “Hall of Herod”. Further research was continued in the 20th century. It was only recently that specialists managed to find the building that was built in the first place.

New objects are walls that belong to two huge halls at once. They were separated by fountains. The halls, as well as the fountain, were decorated with molded cornices, flat columns and pilasters. Archaeologists have suggested that these buildings were used for meetings of council members.

They could organize feasts for guests of honor, during which they reclined on dining beds made of wood. Veksler Bdolach added that visitors to the open halls can only imagine how beautiful and wealthy they once were.

The hall is located near the Temple Mount, where the First Temple was built, which is known to many as the Temple of Solomon. Most experts believe that the Ark of the Covenant was kept here until the destruction of the Temple by the Babylonians.

The Second Temple was also built there, which was much more modest than the first. After some time, Herod the Great rebuilt it and gave it a certain grandeur, but the building was destroyed.

The Temple Mount is where Isaac tried to sacrifice his own father Abraham. Jews to this day believe that the Third Temple will also be erected here. This event will speak of the imminent coming of the Messiah.
