(ORDO NEWS) — 10 recently discovered asteroids with close approximations within 1 lunar distance were detected from October 12 to 18, 2020, which indicates a significant increase in the detection of asteroids with a trajectory within 1 lunar distance in such a short period of time.
From 15 to 18 October, 10 flyby of recently discovered asteroids were recorded.
Within 2 days (October 19-21) 4 newly discovered asteroids will fly past the Earth within 1 lunar distance.
There are currently 84 known asteroids that will fly past Earth within 1 lunar distance since the beginning of the year, including 2020 SO which will arrive on December 1.
2020 is currently outperforming 2019 for “nearby asteroids”.
