Which foods reduce the risk of cancer – research

(ORDO NEWS) — During a large-scale study, French scientists managed to establish that people who prefer to use environmentally friendly products are less prone to the development of a number of forms of cancer. In addition, such a diet also reduces the risk of developing chronic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and liver. This is reported by The Independent.

Organic scientists understand products that have been grown without the use of pesticides, growth regulators, antibiotics and other similar substances. As it turned out, they should be preferred.

During the study, scientists divided people into different groups depending on the volume of consumption of organic products. They took into account the presence of 16 organic products in the diet, including fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, ready meals and even spices.

Volunteers were monitored for 4.5 years. During this time, scientists recorded 1,340 cases of cancer. Most often it was breast cancer (459 cases), then prostate cancer (180 cases), skin cancer (135 cases), colorectal cancer (99 cases). After comparing all the data obtained, the researchers found that people who consume the most environmentally friendly products are 25% less likely to get cancer. In particular, the risk of lymphoma and breast cancer was reduced by 73% and 21%, respectively.

According to scientists, this may be due to the fact that during the consumption of organic products, fewer residues of pesticides and drugs used in agriculture enter the body.
