West again sent nuclear waste to Russia

US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — “Uranium tails” were again shipped to Russia from Germany on Monday. The coronavirus pandemic did not stop this, reports Die Tageszeitung.

According to the newspaper, the nuclear concern Urenco uses the crisis to transport uranium.

A special train will arrive in Amsterdam from Gronau. In the Netherlands, hundreds of uranium hexafluoride will be loaded onto the Russian ship Mikhail Dudin. In 2020, the Federal Republic of Germany plans to send six more trains with spent nuclear fuel to the Russian Federation.

It is noted that German eco-activists, who are very worried about the problem of transporting nuclear waste, are protesting against transportation. Due to the possibility of infection with COVID-19, they go to pickets in protective masks.

Earlier it was reported that Petersburgers protested against the arrival of uranium waste.

As the advertising market and newspaper runs dipped due to the pandemic, Sergei Lapenkov, head of the Alliance of Independent Regional Publishers, told the Rosbalt podcast .
