(ORDO NEWS) — The network has information about the results of the lawsuit between the publisher Axel Springer and Eyeo GmbH, which created Adblock Plus.
The German media concern, which publishes various newspapers and magazines, argued in its lawsuit that the ad blocker not only interferes with the correct display of sites in browsers, but also changes the code of sites.
And this, in turn, provides direct access to legally protected data.
But the court ruled that Adblock Plus did not violate the rights of Axel Springer. This is due to the fact that the ad blocker does not change the site code – it only changes the structure of how they are displayed.
Note that the answer from the creators of Adblock was not long in coming. They posted a message sharing their joy at “an important victory for a free and secure Internet.”
