(ORDO NEWS) — Specialists from the University of Nanjing studied the powerful and short radio signals that are periodically recorded by ground equipment. And they put forward a hypothesis that suggests that their source is collapsing planets.
To confirm their assumptions, astronomer Yun Feng Huan, together with his colleagues, developed a computer model that describes the mechanics of the planet’s movement around a neutron star. It is neutron stars that cause such a strong stellar wind that can reach the Earth.
The model showed that in the case of an elongated orbit, a planet revolving around such a star periodically comes too close to it, so that the star’s gravity can powerfully affect it. Due to this impact, the planet is destroyed, losing large fragments of matter.
It is precisely such destruction under the action of the stellar wind that gives a picture of powerful bursts in the radio range.
To verify the truth of theoretical calculations, experts intend to study the interaction of neutron stars with their planets more carefully and for a long time. This will allow you to learn more about the processes taking place in the universe.
