(ORDO NEWS) — A few years ago, Israeli physicists published a study under the intriguing title: “Can future choices influence the past?”
The authors of the work prove that if we consider our world at the level of elementary particles, we can see how the existing quantum system affects not only the future, but also in the future is responsible for events in the past.
Aharonov-Bohm effect
To check the effect, a screen with two slits is required. On the one hand, a source of high-energy electrons is installed, and on the other, a device for fixing electron oscillations with different periods (this is due to interference).
A long solenoid with a closed magnetic field is installed between the device and the screen with slots. Electrons will not feel tension, since for them it will in fact be equal to zero.
However, it is worth putting current through the solenoid, and the stripes on the screen immediately begin to shift.
Experimentally, this effect has been proven many times by different groups of researchers. Simply put, the electrons seem to know what the cunning physicists are up to and begin to adjust to the expected reality.
How so? Scientists explain this by the existence of a binary wave function: not only does the present influence the future, but the future also influences the past.
We are used to viewing the world as a huge system (planets, stars, galaxies) and do not notice the tiny details that actually form the basis of everything around.
Particle systems are a separate full-fledged world within a world, existing in all dimensions at once.
By the way, Einstein was sure that everyone’s actions are predetermined, and on this occasion he said:
“I know that from a philosopher’s point of view, a murderer is not responsible for his crime, but I prefer not to drink tea with him.”
