NEW YORK, BRONX (ORDO News) — British astronomer Lord Martin Rees said that alien life has already been discovered, and it is represented by artificial intelligence, and not little green men.
In an interview with the BBC, Martin Rees argues that artificial intelligence is a form of alien life leading to a new concept: reaching the peak of Darwinian evolution could mean the end of humanity’s role as the dominant species on the planet.
Martin Rees states: “Will there come a time when inorganic intelligence will surpass us or even catch up with us? If this happens, our species will be just an ephemeral phase in Earth‘s history before machines take over.
Many people believe that humans are the pinnacle of intelligence, but perhaps we are just an intermediate link on the path to artificial intelligence.”
Such a statement raises many questions, such as where exactly is this alien artificial intelligence located? Lord Rees is confident that he may already exist somewhere in space.
“Inorganic intelligence may not need an atmosphere or a planet on which it originated. Interstellar or even intergalactic travel is not scary for a practically immortal creature. Perhaps they do not have the same base instincts and desires as we do.”
Some scientists recognize the possibility of the existence of other forms of intelligence not associated with organic beings. After all, in recent years, artificial intelligence has been increasingly being introduced into various spheres of human life, taking away jobs from people.
We can only guess what the future will be like – whether artificial intelligences will be “aliens” as Rees suggested.
If this happens, they may become the next step in the evolution of intelligence. Perhaps the time will come when humanity has completed its destiny and a new form of intelligence will take over.
However, for now this concept remains a hypothesis.
