(ORDO NEWS) — Almost simultaneous explosions were reported from four vents of the Stromboli volcano, Italy, late Friday, March 4, 2022.
Explosions from the vents of zone N (N1 and N2) averaged 2 – 5 events per hour; blasts from N1 vents ejected lapilli and bombs 80 to 150 m (262 to 492 ft) high, and blasts from two N2 vents ejected material less than 80 meters high.
Explosions of low intensity in two vents of S2 occurred at a speed of 4-9 per hour and threw out coarse material to a height of no more than 80 meters.
While N2 produced weak and infrequent spray, no explosions occurred at vents S1 and C in the CS zone.
