
Children’s World sales skyrocketed by 45% due to coronavirus
US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — The largest children’s goods retailer in Russia, Detsky Mir, has increased sales in recent days compared to the same period in 2019 by 45%, the company said.
Sales in the online store more than tripled compared to the same period in 2019, while the share in the total sales of the Detsky Mir network in Russia amounted to more than 18%.
The company does not report the exact evaluation period.
The main demand is fixed for essential goods, namely food and diapers.
At the same time, the children’s world reported a significant increase in inventory and readiness for increased demand.
“In the context of the difficult economic and epidemiological situation in the country, the Detsky Mir proactively increased its inventory in a significant volume to ensure the availability of children’s goods in times of high demand. The entire assortment, including essential goods, is fully presented in the retail network and online store,” the report said.
