(ORDO NEWS) — Scientific studies confirm that apple cider vinegar may be beneficial for people with diabetes. This is because it lowers blood sugar levels. But what else is this product good for?
In one study conducted by specialists from the University of Milan (Italy), it turned out that in humans, when apple cider vinegar was taken orally with food (as a salad dressing), the glucose response decreased by 31.4%.
However, this study has two limitations. The number of participants was quite small, and the salad with vinegar was given to people who did not have type 2 diabetes.
Other scientific papers suggest that apple cider vinegar may help with weight loss. One article published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition notes that vinegar, when consumed with a high-carbohydrate meal, leads to increased satiety.
In this case, the person will most likely consume fewer calories, and this will lead to weight loss when combined with physical activity.
Chinese scientists from Harbin Medical University have found out how good apple cider vinegar is for the heart.
But the participants in this study were mice with high blood pressure, not humans, even though its results showed that vinegar lowered blood pressure.
