(ORDO NEWS) — If you don’t really like vegetables, but are willing to sacrifice your habits for the sake of health from time to time, then there is good news for you: nutritionists believe that they have found the one and only vegetable that combines all the useful qualities.
Dr. Ragan Chatterjee, a nutritionist and host of a popular BBC program, says that the only vegetable our bodies really need is broccoli.
First of all, broccoli is a vegetable that is necessary for the normal functioning of the intestines: the fibers and fiber contained in broccoli have the best effect on intestinal health and help in the prevention of dangerous diseases, including cancer.
Also, eating broccoli helps lower the level of “bad” cholesterol, protect the heart and blood vessels, improve eye health, and even protect against the development of depression.
A 2020 study from Harvard University Medical School found a link between bowel disease and an increased risk of anxiety and depressive disorders.
Thus, broccoli, while helping in the prevention of bowel disease, may protect against serious mental disorders. Doctors only remind you to steam or boil broccoli instead of frying it for greater health benefits.
