(ORDO NEWS) — In China, they decided to test whether drones can change the weather in a certain area. Spoiler: they did it.

Researchers from the China Meteorological Administration and the China Aviation Industry Corporation have shown success in managing precipitation. They managed to increase rainfall in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.

Wing Loong 1H drones circled over the highlands for five hours straight and chased clouds that collided and turned into clouds. Result: on an area of up to 15 thousand square meters. km it snowed with rain.

Scientists now know that humans can remotely make it rain in specific places. This is necessary, for example, to ensure a good harvest in dry seasons.
