US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — Pilots of Russian MiG-29KR / KUBR fighters will receive helmets with augmented reality. They will display flight and tactical information, as well as the flight path.
According to the Izvestia publication, the augmented reality system is called NCIS-CBS. Sources in the military-industrial complex told reporters that the issue is currently being worked on.
The fighter pilot will be able to see on the helmet data on altitude, speed and course of the aircraft, on the current overload. That is, the pilot will see both the real picture and the computer generated at the same time. It is believed that this will help the pilot in critical situations not to be distracted by instruments or an indicator on the windshield.
In addition, during the battle, the system will display information about the position of the targets, the type of weapons used and the amount of ammunition available. The pilot will also be warned of the danger of a collision with the ground.
It is reported that NSCI-CBS is mounted on flight helmets ZSh-7.
