(ORDO NEWS) — NASA has once again rolled out its giant Space Launch System (SLS) lunar rocket onto the launch pad at the Kennedy Space Center.
The challenge is to launch an uncrewed Orion spacecraft into space on Nov. 14 around the moon and bring it back as the first test of equipment designed to bring astronauts back to the moon.
According to the original plans, the launch of the SLS was to take place at the end of August. However, it was postponed several times – first due to engine problems, and then due to a fuel leak.
And then all the NASA maps were confused by the powerful hurricane Ian, which hit Florida, where the SLS launch pad is located. NASA hid its 98-meter rocket from the weather in time.
Will the rocket finally get off the ground? Well, perhaps. However, backup dates for the launch of the rocket (November 16 and November 19) have already been set, if something does not go according to plan again on November 14.
