NEW YORK, BRONX (ORDO News) — In 2010, a family in Chile, while on a picnic in the Andes, took an unusual photograph that still remains a mystery. In the photo, taken during the day, it looks like a huge glowing orange object is hovering above them, hidden behind the clouds.
This image caught the attention of experts at the National Aviation Anomaly Reporting Center (NARCAP) and attracted the attention of UFO researchers. Mail Online writes about this
It happened on February 14, 2010, while a couple and their one-year-old daughter were spending the day at El Yeso Reservoir.
Impressed by the beauty of nature, they took 16 photographs of the valley and sky. However, something amazing happened later, when the mother of the family discovered something strange in one of the photographs – a glowing orange object that seemed anomalous to her.
The sighting was shared with the Chilean government, which in turn shared the photo with NARCAP.
This organization, which specializes in the study of unidentified aviation phenomena, conducted a thorough analysis of the image and published a 23-page report in July 2010.
NARCAP chief Ted Rowe said the object was an “unidentified aerial object,” leaving many perplexed. However, the case was quickly closed and the report quietly frozen.
This photograph was remembered 13 years later thanks to the documentary “The Proof is Out There,” in which researchers tried to solve this mystery.
In this popular science series, experts analyze videos and images of strange sightings, including a photograph from the Andes.
Astronomer and video effects designer Mark de Antonio offered one explanation. He claims that the strange formation in the photo could be the result of a prism effect caused by the sun hitting ice crystals in the atmosphere and creating unusual rainbow-like phenomena.
However, despite this explanation, meteorologist Juan Hernandez and physicist Matthew Shidagis support the NARCAP report’s conclusion that the object remains unidentified.
“The Proof Is In” host Tony Harris points out that “unidentified” does not necessarily mean alien in origin. This means that the mystery remains unsolved, and researchers continue to get closer to the truth.
Perhaps the answers to this riddle will be discovered in the future, when science and technology advance further in their development.
