Giant funnel in the ground suddenly appeared in Turkey

(ORDO NEWS) — In a village in the Turkish province of Konya in the center of the country, a sinkhole up to 15 meters deep suddenly formed.

A funnel with a diameter of about 100 meters and a depth of 12-15 meters appeared in a field near the village of Karapinar.

Currently, the reasons for the appearance of a mysterious pit are being investigated.

According to local residents, this phenomenon is not the first time.

The only strange thing is that this phenomenon first happened right in the village.

Fetulla Arık, director of the crater research center at Konya University of Technology, told Anadolu News Agency that the crater is not related to the catastrophic earthquakes that occurred on February 6 and 20 in Turkey and Syria.
