(ORDO NEWS) — Italy‘s worst drought in decades has sent the country’s largest lake, Garda, to near its lowest level on record.
Sections of underwater rocks were exposed, and the water temperature approached the average in the Caribbean Sea.
Tourists flocking to the popular Italian lake have discovered an amazing scenery. A vast strip of discolored rocks extends far from the usual coastline, surrounding the southern peninsula of Sirmione with a yellow halo.
“We came last year, we loved it and we’re back this year,” tourist Beatrice Masi said as she sat on the rocks.
“We found that the landscape has changed a lot.
When we arrived, we were a little shocked. There was no water where we used to walk.”
