Death 5 hours after onset of symptoms: a little girl dies from COVID-19

(ORDO NEWS) — A 4-year-old girl who lived in Galveston County, Buckliff, died of COVID in her sleep just a few hours after the first signs of the disease appeared. The child had a fever and was soon gone.

Reported by the Houston Chronicle.

Kali Cook was actively running at home a few days ago. At 2 am, the girl’s temperature began to rise very quickly. In the morning, the parents discovered that their daughter had died. Her mother Kara Harwood told about this. It is worth noting that this is the first case in Galveston County where a child under the age of 10 has died of the coronavirus.

Kali’s sudden death demonstrates once again how dangerous the latest Delta strain is. It infects children of all ages and begins to actively progress, which is fatal. Just a few days ago, 321 were hospitalized in the state with a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19. At the same time, two children lived in the Galveston area.

Kali was never sent to the hospital in time. Her life was cut short on the second day after Kara passed her daughter’s test, which showed a positive result. At that time, the girl’s brother and her sister, who is only 5 months old, were already infected.

Today the whole family is in quarantine. Parents talk all the time about their daughter, who just started attending kindergarten last month. The child cried a lot about this at first, but the garden setting and new friends helped Kali quickly adapt.
