Scientists identified record-breaking warming at the North Pole
(ORDO NEWS) — Officials from the US National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration have identified record-breaking warming at the North Pole, according to the Arctic Report Card 2020.
It is emphasized that the North Pole this year warmed up twice as fast as the rest of the Earth.
“Gradual deep melting of permafrost in northern Alaska could begin in 30-40 years,” the report says.
Scientists have predicted that all sea ice may melt in the Arctic in the summer from 2040 to 2060, and permafrost will disappear in Alaska.
