(ORDO NEWS) — Microsoft founder Bill Gates has promised to donate so much money to charity, which will eventually lead to the release of the billionaire from the list of the richest people on the planet.

Bill Gates currently has a net worth of over $100 billion, making him the fourth richest person on the planet. However, this may soon change.

Gate has promised to soon donate $20 billion to a charitable foundation he founded in 2000 with his (now ex) wife.

What is this fund?

Since its founding, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has been one of the largest philanthropic organizations in the world.

Its main goals are to improve global health, reduce extreme poverty in the world, gender equality and education.

“Looking to the future, I plan to give the fund almost all of my fortune. I will move down and eventually exit the list of the richest people in the world, ” wrote Gates.

He also noted that from 2026, the annual expenses of the fund will increase from 6 to 9 billion.
