South Korean company Hyundai Rotem showed the concept of a new generation tank

(ORDO NEWS) — Hyundai Rotem, which you can recognize from train deliveries news, has developed and presented the concept of a new generation tank. The futuristic design promises more firepower and better protection.

Judging by the photos published on Twitter, a full-size concept was presented at one of the exhibitions. So far, the development is simply called “The main battle tank of the new generation” (Next Generation Main Battle Tank).

What is known about the new military machine

As the source notes, the layout of the future tank is similar to modern ones: the driver’s seat is in the middle of the hull, the turret with the gun is in the back, months for three crew members: driver, commander and gunner. Along with this, new technologies of mobility, firepower and protection are used.

- It is based on a capsule-type fighting compartment, which allows the tank to be used in extreme conditions with maximum ballistic and mine protection.

- The hull offers a high level of protection using both passive and active armor.

- The tank will be equipped with an active protection system to repel guided missiles and rocket-propelled grenades 360 degrees around the vehicle, as well as an explosive device detection system.

- Each side of the tower will be equipped with smoke grenade launchers.

- Additional weapons will be “hidden” inside the tower.

The engine is diesel, which will allow it to reach a maximum speed of 70 kilometers per hour on roads and 50 kilometers per hour off-road .

It is noted that the new tank is designed to install 130-mm smoothbore weapons . It is also known that the suspension will use rubber track technology, and the entire structure weighs 55 tons.
