Brazil cuts key rate to 3.75%

US, WASHINGTON (ORDO NEWS) — The Brazilian Central Bank cut its key rate by 50 basis points to 3.75% on Wednesday, an unprecedented floor, in an attempt to cushion the economic shock linked to the current health crisis.

The decision was taken unanimously by the nine members of the Brazilian monetary policy committee, it was said.
