(ORDO NEWS) — According to XPeng Inc., it has officially received special permission to fly from the Civil Aviation Authority of China (CAAC).
As a result, the XPeng X2 became the first (human-controlled) electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft to receive permission to fly in the Middle Kingdom.
The developers claim that the device is capable of accelerating to a speed of 130 kilometers per hour and reaching a height of 1000 meters. The operating time on a single battery charge will be 35 minutes.
The first deliveries of the new eVTOL to customers should begin as early as 2024.
