(ORDO NEWS) — The COVID-19 pandemic is not even going to end, and all the negative consequences that it provoked will affect people‘s lives for several decades.
This statement was made by the head of WHO Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. He also noted that, taking into account the exact situation in the world, it is very important for all states to interact with each other.
The head of WHO paid special attention to the need to vaccinate as many people as possible. By mid-2022, it is necessary that at least 70% of people in every country receive the coronavirus vaccine.
Cooperation between states will play a huge role, because this will strengthen health systems, as well as engage in the restoration of the economy, which is in a very deplorable state today.
Ghebreyesus also said that the longer the pandemic continues, the worse the consequences for all of humanity will be.
Today, 42% of the population in those countries that are part of the Commonwealth of Nations have received two vaccinations against coronavirus.
But if we consider the rate of vaccination, then in this case it is necessary to understand that in different states there are differences in exactly how much of the population was vaccinated.
For example, in the African states of the Commonwealth, the average vaccination rate does not exceed 23%.
According to the head of WHO, it is necessary to make the maximum amount of efforts in order to close the gap that has arisen. This must be done as soon as possible, which will allow us to more effectively cope with the coronavirus pandemic.
